Music

A few favourite songs – it would be great if you can join me playing these at one of the folk clubs across Scotland so I post these songs so you can see the keys I use and perhaps others can play and sing better to drown me out.

“A Man of Independent Mind Just Looks and Laughs at A’ That” has been one of my mottos in life. Here is the Robert Burns song with these and other observations on how people can live better lives

Why do we build walls? I am always suspicious of secrecy so open data, transparency, and honesty seem to matter more to me than for others. Anais Mitchell’s fantastic song explores the reasons for walls so I play it here to some pictures of walls across mainly Scotland

The Herman Hesse classic “Siddhartha” explores the journey and this song has been with me since I was a teenager on my journey

As we emerge from the disruption of a pandemic it is worth remembering some of the things that happened after the disruption of the second world war. This is Roads to Moscow written by Al Stewart.
